Patient 1 – This 53-year-old demonstrates how extra eyelid bags and skin can make you look older than you are. Her upper eyelids cannot open fully due to excess tissues and the drooping eyebrows. Some lower eyelid bags have made their way into her cheeks, called “malar bags.” Making her more refreshed and age appropriate is as simple as removing the excess skin and fat and re-suspending the eyebrows to help open the eye area. Dr. Zenn performed an endoscopic browlift, upper blepharoplasty with extended fat removal, and lower transconjunctival blepharoplasty. Shown is her results at 3 months.
Patient 2 – This 50-year-old woman hated that she always looked tired – even when she wasn’t! She showed early signs of aging with fat bags below the eyes and drooping eyebrows that prevented her from applying eye makeup to her upper eyelid. Dr. Zenn performed an upper blepharoplasty, lower blepharoplasty, endoscopic browlift and TCA peel. She looks more rested and youthful 4 months after surgery.
This 60-year-old patient nicely demonstrates the power of adding volume back to the face with fat grafting in addition to lifting procedures. First, we addressed the eye area with an endoscopic browlift, upper and lower blepharoplasty, and fat grafting around the eyes. Photos are pre-op and 18 months post surgery.. She looks rested, healthy and fabulous!
Patient 3 – This 66-year-old nicely demonstrates the benefits of rejuvenating the eyes with the rest of the face. She had the signs of aging around her eyes with bags and excess skin and had laxity of the face with extra skin around the neck with noticeable bands. Dr. Zenn performed an extended SMAS facelift with plication and 4 months later an endoscopic browlift, upper blepharoplasty, and lower blepharoplasty. Note on her 7- month follow up that she is greatly improved but natural appearing and not overdone and obvious.
Patient 4 – This 60-year-old demonstrated “hooding”- when the eyebrow skin droops over the upper eyelid so the upper lid cannot even be seen. Correction of hooding requires eyebrow elevation then skin and/or fat removal. In this case, Dr. Zenn performed an endoscopic browlift, upper blepharoplasty with skin and fat removal, and lower blepharoplasty. This is her 2-month result.
Patient 5 – This 57-year-old was unhappy with the appearance of her eyes. On exam she was noted to have very weak bone support without much cheek prominence. This lack of support allowed her eyelid fat to escape onto the cheek giving her a tired and aged appearance. She also had some hooding. Dr. Zenn performed an endoscopic browlift, upper blepharoplasty, lower transconjunctival blepharoplasty with support of the cheek and eyelid with silicone cheek implants. One can see in her results at 8 months that there is more cheek fullness which supports the lower lid and prevents recurrence of the lower eyelid bags.
Patient 6 – An ideal aesthetically pleasing eye has an arched eyebrow and at least 2 or 3 mm of upper eyelid visible. This 50-year-old nicely demonstrates how a flat eyebrow and hidden upper eyelid can make one look older. Dr. Zenn performed an endoscopic browlift, and upper blepharoplasty. This is her result at 3 months looking more youthful and rested.
Patient 7 – This 65-year-old felt she looked much older than her peers. Her skin was sun-damaged and she had extra skin that obscured her neck and jawline. Dr. Zenn performed a subcutaneous mini-facelift with lateral platysmal plication and facial fat grafting. Her eyes were made much more youthful with an endoscopic brow lift and lower blepharoplasty. The results at 6 months show age defying definition without the “windswept” look of being overdone and obvious.
Patient 8 – This 65-year-old woman looked much older than her age due to the squareness of her lower face which resulted from drooping facial tissues and her marked skin wrinkles. Dr. Zenn gave her a more youthful appearance with a facelift and upper and lower blepharoplasty. At 3 months, she has a more sculpted neck and jawline and freshening of the eye area.
Patient 9 – This 66-year-old woman did not like the unevenness of her upper eyelids and the hanging of skin over the lids. Additionally, she was not happy with the bags under her eyes that made her look tired. Dr. Zenn performed and endoscopic browlift, upper blepharoplasty with skin, fat, and corrugator muscle removal as well as a transconjunctival lower blepharoplasty. This is her 2 ½ month follow up.
Patient 11 – This 51-year-old woman had difficulty putting makeup on her upper eyelids. Additionally, she did not like the bags under her eyes that made her look tired. Dr. Zenn performed upper blepharoplasty with skin removal as well as a transconjunctival lower blepharoplasty to remove the fat bags. This is her 3 month follow up with eye makeup and a refreshed lower eyelid.
Patient 13 – This 44-year-old woman was tired of people saying she was tired. She wasn’t but had bags under her eyes that sent that message to others. With no excess skin to be seen, Dr. Zenn simply removed the fat bags through a tranconjunctival (from inside the eyelid) blepharoplasty to eliminate external scars. This is her 2-month result.
Patient 14 – This 62-year-old gentleman did not like the hooding of his upper eyelids with hanging of skin over the lids. He also felt that he had some extra lower eyelid skin. Dr. Zenn performed an upper and lower blepharoplasty with skin and fat removal. This is his 3 ½ month follow up with a more symmetric upper eyelids, less skin hanging over, and smoother lower eyelids.
